Counselling at Planted Counselling NZ is open to anyone seeking support with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Whether you’re navigating disordered eating, body image concerns, burnout, anxiety, depression, life changes or simply need someone to talk to, you’re welcome here.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for adults and teens, with a specialised focus on supporting women in recovery from eating disorders, body image issues, disordered eating, burnout and anxiety.
I would love to hear from you - and if I’m not the right fit, I might know someone who is.
-
I primarily see privately paying clients and also work with a limited number of ACC sensitive claims clients. If cost is a barrier, please let me know. I may be able to offer reduced-cost sessions or point you toward funding pathways that could help.
I believe everyone deserves access to mental health support. With knowledge of services in Christchurch, I can also connect you with other options that might be a good fit.

I offer sessions in a private, cosy and welcoming therapy space in Ōtautahi/Christchurch, or online via Zoom. Once you book an in-person session, I’ll send you the exact address and directions.
-
The first session is about beginning to build trust and connection — the foundation of effective therapy. We’ll spend time on whanaungatanga (getting to know you) and manaakitanga (hospitality), which might include a cup of tea, a fidget toy, or a cosy blanket to help you feel comfortable.
We’ll explore what has brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping for. By the end of the session, you can expect to feel listened to, respected and understood. Depending on your needs, you may also leave with practical tools, clarity around a pathway forward, and a sense of calm and connection.
-
Sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
If attending in person, I recommend that you arrive at least 5 minutes before your session to allow time to find a park and take a breath. If you are late, the session will still end at the scheduled time to accommodate the next client. Thank you for your understanding!

I charge $160 per therapy hour (50 minutes) for private one-on-one counselling.
For specialised Eating Disorder Recovery therapy, my fee is $200 per session.
My session fees cover more than just the time we spend together. They also include:
Preparing for your sessions
Taking notes and keeping track of your progress
Responding to messages and follow-ups
For ED recovery clients, collaboration with your multidisciplinary support team - recovery coach, dietitian, GP or psychiatrist (if consented)
For youth, if consented, communication with parent or carer
Research, referrals and recommendations
Ongoing training and supervision to provide safe, effective care
The space, tools, and support that make therapy possible
In other words, your fee supports the full care and attention I bring to our work together.
I offer a limited number of reduced-fee sessions each week to make counselling more accessible.
If finances are a barrier, please get in touch — we can discuss a rate that works for you. -
I understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes things come up that mean you can’t make your appointment. This policy helps me keep appointments available for everyone who needs them while honouring the time I set aside for you.

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people come for just a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others choose ongoing support over several months or longer term. We’ll regularly review your goals together so you can decide what feels right for you.
